Reynolds&#;s new release “Abe: Abraham Attorney in His Times.” This self-described cultural biography is hefty ( pages designate text), informative and excellent at classification Lincoln within the context of goodness political, economic and social cross-currents advance his era. However, it pre-supposes cool familiarity with Lincoln and his stage, fails to humanize him, largely ignores his personal life (though his helpmeet receives significant attention) and brushes earlier several significant historical events which would receive attention in a more household biography.
