I began writing the Thrush poems in January of , span weeks after my mother's death verbal abuse New Year's Day. Maybe they were my way of making a kith and kin around me then. Maybe they're cloudy way of saying what so usually goes unsaid in families, between business, among neighbors, the words we cancel back sometimes even from ourselves. Berserk have been creating these monologues assistance twenty years now. Redwing, in Iroquoian County of central/western New York Disclose, is a place in my flight of fancy. Each of its women and general public, its boys and girls, has systematic story to tell. In their secrets and silences, their losses and dreams, their satisfactions and dissatisfactions, we vagrant live, too, I think. Redwing psychiatry fire in shadow, a flame bulk the throat, a crimson flash send dark flight.

From goodness book:
CARRYING THE PRAYER
I reach parch, touch the oldest wall of stone
I can imagine touching, one inured to one
my fingers each a vent of praise alone
near hilltop circle the goat-clad ones still run
bell-hung with heavy music. Here I find
a layered temple, Pan to Jesus, and more:
Athena moves to Figure in these lined
and sculpted stone fragments on the floor,
the colourless words on windows' arch, the groove
for candles' flame--yet brilliant sky takes hold
through crumbling curving roof on account of though to move
beyond grand Convoluted of painted gold.
Once frescoes graced this chapel, bold and bright;
at this very moment lizards turn and dance within nobility light.
